Diary #5 – 16th August 2025

I kicked off the morning with a workout.

Spent about three hours writing my e-book, using a Pomodoro timer to stay focused. When I get into the flow, time really flies.

In the afternoon, I finally got back to filming videos. Vlogging is something I really want to focus on after retirement.
For now, I can only manage once a month, but I’d love to make it weekly someday.

Meals today were nice and simple.
Breakfast was natto rice, and lunch was peperoncino pasta. I switched up the sansho a bit, and my youngest daughter said, “This is delicious!” That made me so happy.

Dinner was grilled salmon, sweet omelet, chilled tomatoes, and cucumber sticks.
Nothing fancy, but honestly, meals like this feel like real luxury.
The salmon was seasoned perfectly, and yeah, I couldn’t resist going for a second bowl of rice.

I dropped by the library in the afternoon and snapped a few photos of the mountains.
Later, I kept working on vlog prep and filming, and before I knew it, the day had turned into night.

I also filmed the cats.
I get so caught up thinking about which angle looks best, and honestly, they looked so beautiful on camera I couldn’t stop watching.

Two bowls of rice ended up being just right—satisfying without feeling heavy.
Still, that salmon was way too good to pass on seconds.

My wife and kids went to a festival in their old neighborhood and stayed overnight at a relative’s place.
So, I had the house to myself. It was quiet and relaxing, though a little lonely.
But the cats were extra cuddly tonight, and that really made my day.
